“The Bahá’í International Community’s United Nations Office is seeking a full-time intern to assist the Principal Representative to the United Nations with research and administrative work related to the upcoming session of the General Assembly.”

Candidates should be available from 1 September to 31 December 2009. The application deadline is July 1, 2009

Responsibilities include:

• Documentation of the work of the Office during the General Assembly; writing, editing as needed
• Analysis of country statements on selected themes
• Following, attending, and taking notes at relevant UN meetings
• Preparation of background materials
• Assisting the Aide to the Representative as needed

Requirements include:

• Excellent writing, editing and research skills (2 writing samples required)
• Coursework or a demonstrated interest in human rights, international law, international relations, or political science
• Maturity, confidentiality and an attitude of service
• Two references (at least one academic)
