Official Baha’i Photography Collection – Torrents

November 20th, 2008 Posted in Media

(rl) A couple of weeks ago the official Baha’i website put up over 500 photographs that were commissioned by the Baha’i World Centre for the International Baha’i Convention that was held back in April in Haifa, Israel.

For those of you that like to do your photo-browsing offline, we’ve torrent-ized the entire presentation, wrapped in a tasty flash coating. This way you can download it and take it over to the homes of those that are less internet-fortunate. Grab the torrent:

As an added bonus, you can also download all of the high-res photos that can be used for all kinds of personal and non-commercial type things or just to print out and hang all over your walls (Please read the copyright information contained in the folder!) High-res photo torrent here:

    What a wonderful tool.

Our ATC prepared a presentation for the Washington, D.C. cluster with these photographs, using an excerpt from the House of Justice’s 20 Oct 08 message.

The stirring words, accompanied by music (a spiritual called “Hold On”), plus the amazing photographs, were received very well at the nineteen-day feast last night; a few acknowledged some tears:

I am having trouble with this. Technical trouble, I expect. I downloaded and installed uTorrent and then opened the torrent with that program. I am showing for seeds, 0(0). For pears, one of them is showing 0(5) and the other 0(6). But this is on a weekend. Saturday night to be more exact. I would like to download it, but cannot. Any help would be appreciated.

Some people claim all faith is blind, but my faith is a carefully considered, carefully reasoned and very reasonable, rational and defensible faith. Were atheist Stephen Roberts (1901-1971) standing in front of me this moment, I would say back to him, “I contend that we are both men of faith. I just have faith in one more thing than you do, and for very good reason. When you fully understand why I disdain all the devisers of superstitions and dismiss the gods of vain imaginings, you will understand why I believe in my God, and you will believe also.” — B. Knott Wildered (Not my real name, but the quote is mine.)

I am having trouble with this. Technical trouble, I expect. And if I am having trouble, I suspect others have also, or will have. I downloaded and installed uTorrent and then opened the torrents with that program. I am showing for seeds, 0(0) on both. For peers, one of them is showing 0(5) and the other 0(6). But this is on a weekend. Saturday night to be more exact, which may be the problem. I would like to download both, but seemingly cannot, although I downloaded three other torrents as a test. They are working very well, each downloading at what seems a fairly rapid rate of over 100 kB/s. Any help would be appreciated. I tend to be a very vocal Baha’i, and the more I have to share with seekers and others, the better I like it.

Sorry about the duplicate. I did not know until too late the first one posted. Thought I was proofreading. Please ignore the first with its typos, and if you can, delete it, leaving the second one. Or tell me how to delete it. Thanks.

I owe my success to having listened respectfully to the very best advice, and then going away and doing the exact opposite.
