We’re on it

September 20th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Conference

Registration has been open for over a week now and names have just kept washing ashore. We will start processing the hundreds of registrations on Monday, 22 September, so if you haven’t received a letter saying you are welcome to come, don’t worry, we’re on it. You will be notified soon. Get off the computer, relax, enjoy the view, drink a cup of hot cinnamon latte (great drink!) until you receive an email from ‘Changing Times - Office’.

10 Tips of how to secure your place at Changing Times

September 11th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Conference

Today we received loads of emails asking what people can do to make sure that they are awarded a spot at CT. As you might know by now it’s a first come first served approach which includes a quota system.  However this being said there a few useful things you can do or not do that will help your application. Please take these suggestions with a sense of humor, though they are based on real circumstances which present themselves annually.

1. Register on time. September 13th at 00:00 GMT. Yes, stay up and register at midnight.  It’s worth the effort.

2. Follow through with the registration process; don’t stop in the middle. Incomplete registrations are not accepted. When you have completed your registration you will receive a confirmation notice informing you that your registration has gone through and that you will hear from us in the coming 7 days.

3. Fill out your registration form truthfully.  Misrepresentation can cost you your place, especially with regard to age and country.

4. In the notes section, offer useful services and talents. Please don’t make up talents that you do not have, and spare us from talents such as being a awesome Michael Jackson impersonator or being able to belch your name backwards.

5. Control your urges to spam the organizers with emails asking if you got in, as this only causes delay in getting to your application.

6. Under no circumstances should your parents write us emails asking that we admit you because you are such a wonderful and gifted child.

7. Bribes will get you booted to the end of the list, unless they have style such as offering to fly the organizers to Hawaii for their next meeting.

8. In case you are placed on the waiting list, please reconsider sending the organizers personal hate mail full of accusations and threats.  It usually does nothing but cause an awkward situation when a place is found for you and we meet at the session. We try our best to operate as fairly as possible and will inform you the minute a place opens up for you.

9. Once your registration has been accepted make sure to PAY ON TIME. You will lose your place if you are late.  Remember, the waiting list is long.

10. Unfortunately, we are not currently in a position to accept payment in goods and services.  Kindly be prepared to pay your registration fees with currency.
